For Google, NBA’s All Star Weekend is akin to the Super Bowl. In our quest to make this the 'Big Game' for the brand, we've decided to tread uncharted territory, breaking new ground in a way that the brand from Mountain View has never dared. Let’s set the stage with the brief. A two-part challenge that called for innovation and excitement.
1. Hero, showcase, and celebrate the power of the Google Pixel 9 Pro’s camera.
2. Let our audience experience the magic of Google Gemini AI — all through the lens of the NBA ASW weekend.
The answer? My team and I brought two very unique activations to life, each with its own distinct flavor, answering the brief while championing the brand, the technology, the fans, and, most importantly, the game.

Meet the Google Pixel Pro Shot Challenge at NBA Crossover—a 3-level shooting gauntlet for all ages. Hidden Pixel 9 Pros captured pro-level shots at each station. After the final challenge, players printed their favorite as a custom trading card and competed for limited swag. Lines wrapped Moscone Center. WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert stopped by, Jeremy Lin got some shots in, and Lethal Shooter came and laid down a three-peat of high scores. He "understands it now." Take your shot.
Across from NBA Crossover, the Google Pixel House opened its doors. A love letter to basketball, culture, and fandom—powered by Pixel and Gemini Live. Fans grabbed Pixel 9 Pros with earbuds and dove in. Google Lens revealed secrets. Gemini Live unlocked multi-modal prompts. Photo ops hid around every corner. Tech became an extension of their passion, not an add-on. Live entertainment kept the energy high: Chris Brickley and Lethal Shooter's HORSE game, 3-on-3 matchups, athlete talks, 2 Chainz closing the night. Welcome home — welcome to the Google Pixel House.
